Assistant to the Business Manager

 

Reports to:  Superintendent of Schools

Duty Days: 226 days per year

 

Requirements: 

  • HS Diploma (Higher level of education in business is a plus)
  • 3+ years of secretarial experience, preferably in a public education environment
  • Experience with accounts payable, receivable, human resources, bank reconciliations, and purchase orders. 

Responsible for assisting the Business Manager with:

  1. oversight of all financial and business operations of the district's financial activity to ensure legally sound and effective management practices,
  2. monitoring the management and investment of all district funds and ensuring they are adequately protected,
  3. serving as a financial advisor and budget advisor to the superintendent and board of trustees,
  4. assisting and managing the business operations of the district including accounting, payroll, and purchasing,
  5. assisting the Superintendent with daily business operations

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proficient skills in keyboarding, word processing, and file maintenance
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to use computer and software to develop and maintain spreadsheets, databases, and word processing
